It is road-trip worthy because it is probably on your way anyway. As you travel west on the I-10, Once you get to the exit 115,LOOK OUT. You will see Diesi's Little Capital exxon station & Landry's . Off to the side lies this gem where The Boudinis fresh and hot, The po-boys, Boudin balls and the pistolettes crunchy, and the accents thick with cajun frensh.
When Craig Walker a writer with the Associted press stopped at the boudin shop ( Chicken on the Bayou ) he said:
It's hard to find food more down-home than Fried chicken, crawfish and Boudin ( BOO-Dan), The Savory pork and rice Sausage delicacy from Louisiana"s cajun country.Add A simple whitewashed building housing an eatry with buckets at each table for the crawfish shells,and an address in historic breaux Bridge. And jars of locally mader hot sauce, Acadiana Knick knascks on the walls and chanky-Chank Cajun music in the air............
Also The Truckers Connection Magazine had an artical in the section called Between The miles(Entertainment Reviews) Reviewed by Clifton & Ines Miner and They Wrote:
There is a restaurant called Chicken on the Bayou with their superb Cuisine, that louisiana's culter is still alive and kicking....... They serve an amazing chicken and sausage gumbo, Crawfish Platters plus and array of other seafood delicacies. And for the Adventurous at heart, there's the Alligator Burger.
The restaurant isn't very big but it's extremely homey to dine in..... You can either dine in or carry out, but give your self at least 15min.... in some cases like lent 45min.... so order ahead of time.
